  • Using their training, warm hearts and skilled hands, doulas comfort and care for mothers, fathers, partners and babies

  • Doulas support families prenatally, during labor and in the postpartum period

  • Doulas understand the natural process of birth and help families make birth the most positive experience possible for the entire family

  • A birth doula gets to know a woman and her partner before labor, joins them when labor begins and stays with them throughout the entire birth process.

  • Doulas help each woman and her partner with their unique laboring and postpartum needs

  • Doulas can also connect families with community resources, support and encourage breastfeeding, help with parenting strategies and ease the transition of welcoming a new person to the family
